Anonymous asked: Hi there. So do you rebuild 650s that people send you into vintage looks? And if so, how much do you charge for cost/labour? Thanks for your time and you're projects are amazing!

I typically supply the donor bike but I also do commissioned builds and customs of other peoples bikes as well. Labor varies depending on what is done. If I provide the donor, an average cost for a V.C. XS650 is $5,500. Thanks -J

Anonymous asked: I have a '76 xs500 brat style bobber w/ a bad stator. Do you, or do you know of anyone else, that may have a good one, or can possibly rebuild the one I have?

I got rid of my spare XS500 motors. Ebay would be the best place to get a used replacement.

I made a small batch of hats to see what people thought as far as colors and graphic styles. I sold these out on my facebook page in one day. If I get enough response, I will make a larger amount and offer them for sale on the site.
The shipping is unfortunately high ($6 priority US) so I’m going to try to offer the hats at $11, ($17 shipped US).
What are your thoughts, please “reply” ?

SR500 Update - Seat Mounts
I’m back on this build now that the budget XS bobber is completed. All of the frame uppers have been fully welded and the seat mounts fabricated and in place.

Anonymous asked: The bishop bike front end? Did you use the stock xs650 35mm trees and shocks? Also how did you make the brake stay? Did you bolt it to the drum where the slot normally goes? Also did you have to machine spacers to take up the difference? Sorry alot of questions but I want to run a very similar setup and cant figure it out. Joe

Pretty much Yes to all of the above. The stay bolts to the fender mount on the fork and through the hole in the brake plate for “brake lining indicator”

Anonymous asked: I recently picked up a 73 TX750 from an original owner, from the listing you currently have I see you work on them is this something you'd be willing to do? If so how would something like that work. Thanks for your time, John

Anonymous asked: were can i get some rims like the ones in the back ground of the 74yamaha rd350 project the black ones with the spokes? how much would the cost with those same style of tires?

Those are stock Yamaha wheels, the fronts are pretty much interchangeable with a lot of models. The wheels pictured are stock mag’s for the RD350. I have quite a few sets of those wheels for different models. Contact me at vintage.customs@yahoo.com if you’re in need of some..
