Anonymous asked: jason, have a 1979 xs650 and was wondering what your opinion was in bringing the whole thing into the modern age - electronic ignition and stator (pamco and banshee)? Any recommendations?

Updates from the Shop - 5/26
The Redline - ‘78 xs650 Special - Cafe Racer is for sale and will be listed soon on eBay. I’m looking to get $4,000. Contact if interested. Anonymous asked: Saw your photos of the "Redline" -- I really like it! I was wondering where you got the Yamaha stamped master cylinder reservoir cap? Was that standard on whatever that bike your building was originally or is it aftermarket?

In fact, what are your best sources for parts, add-ons, etc?

Thanks!

feelthemonster asked: Two questions!

I am not a mechanic or a customizer or fabricator, so can you explain to me what the draw of the XS 650 is? Why is that particular bike so often chopped, bobbed, cafe-d and customized?

And...how on earth do you keep your garage/shop so clean? :)

Fantastic work, sir -- great looking stuff.

Updates from the Shop - Cinco De Mayo edition
The Redline 650 Cafe Racer: has taken priority over all else as it is nearly finished.  The motor is fully together, wiring complete, custom seat was built today & goes to the upholsterers tomorrow, new shocks on the way and the custom rear-sets are the only thing left to fabricate. I’ll get some photo’s up when I get the new shocks on.. The Speedster 350: is basically finished....
