Anonymous asked: Hi, Greetings from Texas. I just wanted to say that I love your work. Keep up the great job. Your work is very inspiring. Definitely rideable works of art. Question for you if you don't mind: What size tire are you running in the rear for the drifter and normally what size or sizes do you recommend running in the rear for bobbers or choppers if I'm wanting to run a 16'' wheel? I'm debating between either a 120 or 130/90-16. Any experiences or any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The Drifter is running a Shinko 240, an MT90 size tire, which is Harley speak for roughly a 130/90 or 5” wide. A MT90 is about as wide as I’ll go. Since I’m going for a vintage look, I prefer a narrower 110 -120 size.
It seems like every time I see someone running a set of Firestone replicas, they’re always the 4.50” width tire, no matter the scale of the bike. I believe that the tire should be suited to the overall style and match proportionately. More often than not, less is more!
