Updates From The Shop - January
My apologies for not keeping up with the site recently. It’s been a very busy month and here’s what I’ve been up to..
The Royal Rebuild (yet un-named) - with a close deadline of March 10, I’ve been cranking hard on this project!
Finished Frame:
Mocking Up The Pipes:
I got a set of gnarly old Triumph wheel hubs from a customer to have them polished.
After bead-blasting all of the old paint off:
They’re cast aluminum and not the best alloy, so the shine wasn’t as I had hoped but they came out nice regardless..
I’m also rebuilding an SR500 motor for a customer, the head is out getting bored over and will be fitted with a new 10:1 piston. I rebuilt the valve head while waiting on the other parts to come back:
After a good cleaning, the valves were lapped, new seals installed, intakes polished, the head repainted & aluminum covers polished:
Just this past weekend I picked up another bike to build, a ‘73 Yamaha TX750. I built one of these at the beginning of last year. This build should go pretty much the same way.
And last of all, I’m getting a little riding in on The Bullitt XS650, getting the bugs worked out and such before it goes off to its new owner.
