Q:have some comments and questions about the Yamaha XS400 - "The Classic". first question is how did you eliminate the battery or what battery did you use and where is it hidden? second is did you rake the front end at all... or that my eyes tricking me? I have a 80 xs400 that I find your build to be very inspirational. its really slick. Oh, what jetting did you use to run with open pipes and no stock air filter?

Yes, the front was raked out on that build. No, I don’t have a degree or exact number, it was pushed down till it looked right!
It does use a battery, tucked away down and low, a V.C. signature..
Jetting was stock, in the warm climate of FL, it was pretty good, though the new owner (in Germany) says that it’s a bit picky depending on the weather.
